The Western Region Section met on May 8 and voted to move the 2026 summer senior sectional meet to Boise, ID. The meet dates remain the same - July 16-19. Entries will open June 1 in OME. The meet was previously to be held at Mt Hood, OR, but due to ongoing construction, the pool will not be open this summer. Meet Announcement
The new USA Swimming technical rule amendments have been issued. See the Rules and Policies page on the USA Swimming website. These new rules are effective immediately (May 7, 2026). Quick summary: 1) Counting and ringing bells for 400 meter and longer freestyle events 2) Swimmers may be submerged while finishing the butterfly and freestyle 3) Therapeutic elastic tape is no longer prohibited
The Western Zone age group zone committee met today, May 6, to discuss potential new locations for the 2026 WZ age group championship meet that was to have been held at Mt Hood/Gresham, Oregon. The options the committee is considering include Elk Grove or Boise -- in that order. NO decision was made today. The dates of the meet will stay the same. Check back for updates.

The SafeSport Code defines the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s authority and jurisdiction, prohibited categories of abuse and misconduct, and the Center’s process for responding to and resolving abuse and misconduct claims affecting the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement.
