Athlete Awards

Montana Swimming presents awards to outstanding male and female athletes annually. The awards are voted on at the May House of delegates meeting and presented at the Long Course State Championships in July. Below is a list of the awards and the recipients over the years. Congratulations to all the award winners.

The Athlete of the Year point calculation form is here. The award is currently based on a formula using Hy-Tek power points. The qualifying time period is May 1 of the previous year through April 30 of the current year. The power points are on the USA Swimming website – go to the times tab and then the individual times search. Enter the athlete's first and last name, click on advanced search to enter the dates. You can search by all events or show fastest by event/age. The point totals are shown. 

Sports Person of the Year Nominations: Athletes must be a junior or senior in high school to receive the award.  Award considerations include leadership, community service, scholarship, work experience, swimming, sportsmanship and other considerations.
