2021 State of Montana Directives, Information, Vaccinations, FAQs:

On June 30, 2021, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte lifted the executive order declaring a state of emergency in Montana because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID-19 vaccinations are offered across the state to anyone ages 12 and older. Visit the Montana COVID-19 vaccination page here for more information or contact your local health department.

The state of Montana under an order issued by Governor Gianforte lifted the state wide mask mandate on February 12, 2021. Individual responsibility is recommended for mask wearing. Businesses and individuals should follow the CDC's guidelines for social distancing.

Montana Swimming Resources:

Montana Swimming COVID-19 Club Grant Relief Program: In late April, 2020, Montana Swimming provided an immediate, one-time COVID-19 Relief Grant to LSC clubs in the amount of $30 per full-time registered swimmer using registration numbers from the past short course season.

Additionally, MTSI is developing a limited, needs-based program that will make available additional grant funds to clubs. The needs-based program will require individual applications that demonstrate financial need and intended use of funds. Need-based grant awards may include provisions intended to incent activities/conditions valued by MTSI (e.g., Safe Sport Recognition, Club Leadership & Business Management training, etc.). MTSI is not currently contemplating a match of any relief funding or grants by USA Swimming or other entities.

In addition USA Swimming is offer a COVID-19 Round One Grant program to member clubs. Applications are due May 8.

Below is a memorandum intended to meet the requirements of one of the submission requirements for USA Swimming’s just-announced COVID-19 Relief Program For Teams, Grant Guidelines – Round One.  Everyone is encouraged to review and evaluate USA Swimming’s Grant program and use the attached document if you choose to apply for grant funding.  The grant application review considerations include evaluation of whether LSC relief funds are or have been made available.  Contact Matt Yovich if you have questions.

MT Swimming COVID-19 Update – All sanctioned activities are suspended as well as most practice activities in conjunction with Governor Bullock’s Shelter-In-Place order.  We know that the revenue generating capabilities of our clubs have been significantly impacted and that coaching staffs have been furloughed.  We want everyone to be safe and healthy and we want all of our clubs to survive this crisis and thrive once it is over.  Please contact General Chair Matt Yovich if you have questions regarding COVID-19 restrictions, the status of future meets or activities, or if you or your club needs assistance.

Matt Yovich, General Chair, April 2020
