2026 WZ Age Group Champs Relocation Update 5-13-2026

Susan Huckeby

All,

We appreciate your patience as we work through the relocation of the Age Group Zone meet.  As of the date of this email, we have not yet finalized a new home and host, but we want to share where the process stands and confirm for you that we will have a final announcement no later than Tuesday, May 19th.

We are grateful for the cooperation from both Sierra Nevada and Inland Empire as both LSCs have been working on contingencies to host the event.  At this point, we are essentially waiting on local city/municipality approval for use of two potential locations.  In summary, here are the three possibilities:

(1) Elk Grove - SNS and Elk Grove Aquatic Club are prepared to host the meet if granted approval from the city for use of the pool (site of 2022 & 2025 Zones).

(2) Roseville - SNS is working with CCA to get approval for hosting the meet at the CCA complex (2017 & 2018 Zones).

(3) Boise - Inland Empire would be the host at the Idaho Central Aquatic Center (2023 & 2024 Zones).  Site and availability approved as contingency option.

In an effort to help you moving forward with your planning, I am attaching a couple items.  One is the revised event order that includes the stroke 50s for 13-14s.  In addition, I'm attaching the Time Standards that also include the stroke 50s for 13-14s.  As a reminder, the standards are the USAS AAA Motivational Standards for all age-groups.

NOTE: Montana Swimming will give priority entry to swimmers with a AAA qualification times. We will also accept swimmers with AA qualifying times as long as there are enough bonus entries available.

Again, we are thankful your patience--we know there are significant travel adjustments that will be required and appreciate any and all frustrations.  As you all know, this event is not just an ordinary endeavor and we want to make sure we can provide the athlete experience that is expected from an Age Group Zone meet.  We WILL have a decision to you by Tuesday, if not sooner.

Respectfully,

Ryan Stratton,

Western Zone Championship Coordinator
