Montana Swimming Fees Update

Susan Huckeby

Everyone,

I wanted to send out a reminder about fees owed to Montana Swimming including meet sanction fees, per swimmer meet fee, meet entry fees.

All swim meet fees and sanction fees must be paid to Montana Swimming by 20 days after the conclusion of the meet. Fill out the athlete information on the meet financial report and send it and your check to Beth Storey, MT Swimming Finance Vice Chair, 3267 Cabernet Dr, Helena, MT 59601.

Your meet financial report is due within 45 days after the conclusion of your swim meet.  Email a copy of it to Jay Friend and Matt Yovich.

The meet financial form is here.

This past year Montana Swimming had over $4000 in outstanding fees owed. Because of it, new rules were voted on at the Fall HOD meeting to encourage teams to pay their fees on time. The proposals regarding payment of fees that were passed are below. (All the proposals that were passed are here.)

If your fees are not paid and your financial report is not submitted to MT Swimming, your next swim meet will not be sanctioned until the fees are paid and the report submitted.

Also note – if your team’s outstanding fees are not paid prior to SC State, Junior BC, or LC State, your swimmers will not be allowed to compete in those meets until the fees are paid in full.

All teams must be registered with USA Swimming and Montana Swimming by December 30. This year both the USAS and Montana Swimming club registration fees are paid online. Teams not registered by December 30 will be fined $100.

Congratulations to Eddie Lary, HLST head coach, who was elected es the new Montana Swimming admin vice chair. Many thanks to Michelle Schermerhorn, MYST, for all her hard work as the outgoing Admin Vice Chair. All the officers and their contact information are listed on the website.

The Bozeman Barracudas bid to host long course state contingent upon having reasonable rental fees from the Bozeman Swim Center. The pool has been closed for several months and just reopened this month. The MT Swim board will meet December 1 and review the updated bid from BOZ.

Happy Thanksgiving!
